Stock market today, April 1 -- The Indian stock market traded volatile in the morning trade on Tuesday, April 1, amid heightened uncertainty over the US administration's impending reciprocal tariffs. The Sensex plunged over 600 points on the BSE in early trade but pared losses soon.

The index opened at 76,882.58 against its previous close of 77,414.92 and dropped over 600 points to the level of 76,775.79. Around 9:30 AM, the index was 354 points, or 0.46 per cent, at 77,060.93. The Nifty 50 was 72 points, or 0.30 per cent down at 23,447.85.More to come.
