New Delhi, April 22 -- The death of Pope Francis, the head of the Roman Catholic Church, on Monday will mark a sequence of rituals and traditions that are expected to last several days.

Last year, the Pope simplified funeral rituals to highlight his role as a bishop. This revision also included burial outside the Vatican. However, the important elements remain the same.
