New Delhi, March 6 -- From its launch in 2015 until February 2025, the Centre has disbursed Rs.31.85 trillion of the Rs.32.61 trillion allocated under the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY), indicating demand for credit among micro and small businesses, two people aware of the matter told Mint.
The largest share of the disbursals went to Tamil Nadu ( Rs.3.21 trillion), Uttar Pradesh ( Rs.3.07 trillion), Karnataka ( Rs.2.98 trillion), West Bengal ( Rs.2.78 trillion), Bihar ( Rs.2.77 trillion), and Maharashtra ( Rs.2.69 trillion).
Launched on 8 April 2015, the PMMY provides collateral-free institutional credit through banks, NBFCs, and microfinance institutions.
