New Delhi, July 12 -- OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has announced that the company's first open-weight model is being delayed yet again. Altman stated that the model was supposed to be released next week but it is being delayed in order to run additional safety tests and review high-risk areas.
In a post on X annoucing the delay of OpenAI's new model, Altman wrote, "We planned to launch our open-weight model next week. We are delaying it; we need time to run additional safety tests and review high-risk areas. we are not yet sure how long it will take us."
