New Delhi, May 17 -- Ever since OpenAI inadvertently published a blog in March, hinting at the release of GPT-4.5 Turbo, and CEO Sam Altman referred to a new ChatGPT model release this year when asked by podcaster Lex Fridman about GPT-5, many have been anticipating the release of GPT-5. On 6 May, Altman added to the buzz by posting: "im-a-good-gpt2-chatbot"-a model that outperforms OpenAI's GPT-4 and Anthropic's Claude Opus model on some tasks.

OpenAI added to the excitement by saying on 11 May that it would announce "some ChatGPT and GPT-4 updates" with many anticipating a ChatGPT search engine, aimed at stealing the thunder from Google whose I/O 2024 event began on 14 May.
