New Delhi, Nov. 14 -- BJP leader Devyani Rana has created history on Friday as she won the assembly bypoll from the Nagrota constituency in Jammu and Kashmir. With her win, J&K is poised to have four elected women MLAs for the first time.

The Jammu and Kashmir Assembly has seen three women MLAs being elected in 2008, 2014, and 2024, which was the highest female representation till now.

In the 2008 and 2014 elections, the share of women MLAs in the J&K Assembly was 3.4%, while the House strength was 87.
