New Delhi, Nov. 18 -- Major gas pipeline damage has caused chaos across Mumbai, Thane and Navi Mumbai. Autorickshaw drivers have doubled fares as long queues of vehicles continue outside CNG pumps, even as Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL) has assured the supply will be restored by today.
Residents have voiced their frustration on social media. One user complained that auto drivers were charging Rs.150- Rs.200 for routes where the meter showed only Rs.89 (MIDC to Andheri). Another resident informed HT.com that some rickshaws are demanding up to Rs.500 for a short trip to a nearby metro station.
