New Delhi, March 4 -- The Bombay high court on Tuesday stayed a lower court order that directed the registration of a police report against Madhabi Puri Buch, former chairperson of the Securities and Exchange Board of India, and others in a case of alleged fraudulent listing of a company on BSE three decades ago.

Apart from Buch, who recently stepped down as Sebi's chair, the others named in the case were former BSE chairman Pramod Agarwal; current BSE managing director and chief executive Sundararaman Ramamurthy; and three current Sebi whole-time members-Ashwani Bhatia, Ananth Narayan G., and Kamlesh Varshney.
