New Delhi, Aug. 6 -- Priyank Kharge, the minister for information technology in Karnataka, has opened up a crucial and long-ignored issue for debate: government policy on using land to attract investments into a particular area.
In a recent interview, Kharge said Karnataka no longer needs to give away land for cheap or free to IT companies to attract investments into the state. His contention was simple: the state incentivised IT back when it was a sunrise sector three decades ago.
