New Delhi, June 20 -- The government has given satellite internet companies, Bharti Enterprises-backed Eutelsat OneWeb and Jio Satellite, another six months to use provisional spectrum, two officials aware of the matter said. The extension gives them time until November to complete all security-related compliance requirements.
This comes as a relief for the operators that were yet to comply with the government's recently introduced security guidelines, a prerequisite for launching commercial services in India, one of the two officials cited above said.
