New Delhi, Feb. 10 -- The makers of Jana Nayagan, starring actor-politician Vijay, have decided to change course in their ongoing censorship standoff by seeking to withdraw their legal challenge against the Central Board of Film Certification. The plea to withdraw the case is scheduled to be heard by the Madras High Court on 10 February 2026.
The move comes after weeks of uncertainty surrounding the film's certification, which stalled its planned release earlier this year. Jana Nayagan was originally slated to hit theatres on 9 January 2026 but failed to secure a censor certificate despite the producers claiming they had complied with all edits suggested by the examining committee.
