New Delhi, Aug. 14 -- At least 20 people were killed, 98 others were rescued from the cloudburst-hit Chasoti village in Jammu and Kashmir's Kishtwar area, after a massive cloudburst struck the remote village enroute the Machail Mata yatra. Out of the 98 rescued people, 28 are in serious condition, said officials.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the deaths, and stated that "the situation is being monitored closely."
Flash floods tore through the densely populated foothill hamlet, damaging several homes and forcing authorities to halt the annual yatra to the shrine.
