New Delhi, Oct. 15 -- The Israeli military said on Wednesday that one of the four bodies handed over by Hamas as part of the recent ceasefire deal does not belong to an Israeli hostage.
"Following the completion of examinations at the National Institute of Forensic Medicine, the fourth body handed over to Israel by Hamas does not match any of the hostages," the Israel Defense Forces said in a statement, as per CNN.
"Hamas is required to make all necessary efforts to return the deceased hostages," they added.
There was no immediate word on whose body it was.
Four bodies were handed over by Hamas on Tuesday to ease pressure on the ceasefire, following an earlier four on Monday, hours after the last 20 living hostages were released.
