New Delhi, July 23 -- New Delhi: India and the UK are set to sign their long-awaited free trade agreement (FTA) on Thursday morning (UK time), marking a major milestone in bilateral economic relations. However, the final text of the agreement may not be made public immediately, as legal scrubbing of the document is still underway, two officials involved in the process said.

The comprehensive trade pact, which has been under negotiation for over two years, covers 27 chapters and is expected to deliver significant market access and investment opportunities across sectors.

The deal also includes dedicated chapters on innovation and anti-corruption, sections being introduced for the first time in any Indian FTA.
