Weather today, Aug. 1 -- Heavy rainfall is likely in Assam and Arunachal Pradesh on August 1, according to the India Meteorological Department.

After parts of the national capital witnessed light showers throughout the day on July 31, the minimum temperature is expected to settle around 23 to 25 degrees Celsius, which is 2 to 4 degrees below normal. The maximum temperature across Delhi-NCR is likely to be in the range of 33 to 35 degrees Celsius, around 2 to 4 degrees below normal.

The IMD forecasted, "Generally cloudy sky. Very light to light rain accompanied with thunderstorms/lightning" for Delhi-NCR.
