New Delhi, Jan. 27 -- Aditya Birla Group's metals company Hindalco Industries Ltd announced a major expansion of its aluminium operations in Odisha on Tuesday, 27 January.
The company plans to invest Rs.21,000 crore in smelter expansion at its Aditya Aluminium complex in Sambalpur, and to commission a 1.7 lakh-tonne-per-annum Flat Rolled Products (FRP) and battery-grade aluminium foil manufacturing facility with a Rs.4,500 crore investment, Hindalco said in a statement. The projects were inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Odisha, Mohan Charan Majhi.
