Gold price today, Feb. 7 -- Gold prices saw healthy gains in early deals in the domestic futures market Friday morning, ahead of the Reserve Bank of India's monetary policy outcome. Market participants expect a 25 bps rate cut by India's central bank. RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra will announce the policy decision of the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) at 10:00 AM. today (Friday, February 7).
Positive global cues also supported gold prices. MCX Gold for April 4 expiry traded 0.26 per cent higher at Rs.84,661 per 10 grams around 9:10 AM.
According to Reuters, international gold prices traded near record-high levels, looking set for a sixth successive weekly gain, supported by trade war concerns.
