New Delhi, Aug. 26 -- A federal judge has thrown out an unprecedented lawsuit filed by the Trump administration against Maryland's entire federal bench, rejecting an effort to challenge a court order that temporarily paused the deportation of migrants contesting their removals.
US District Judge Thomas Cullen, appointed by Donald Trump in 2020, dismissed the case on Tuesday. He was assigned to oversee it because all 15 of Maryland's federal judges were named as defendants.
Cullen had expressed doubts about the lawsuit during an August hearing, questioning why the administration chose to sue the entire bench rather than pursue narrower legal avenues.
