New Delhi, Aug. 11 -- Explosions at the US Steel plant near Pittsburgh on Monday have left one person dead, two missing, and at least nine others hospitalised, officials confirmed. Emergency workers are actively searching through the heavily damaged and charred rubble for any additional victims.

Kasey Reigner, a spokesperson for Allegheny County emergency services, said, "One person has died, and two are currently believed to be unaccounted for. Others have been treated for injuries."

The Allegheny County Emergency Services said a fire broke out at the plant at around 10:51 a.m., and five people have been transported for medical treatment.
