New Delhi, Oct. 11 -- An explosion occurred at a firecracker factory operating in Pettulupatti, near Sivakasi district of Tamil Nadu, despite holding a licence from Nagpur. The facility, which employs over 200 people and houses more than 100 rooms, was struck by the blast on Saturday.
With Diwali rapidly approaching, workers were engaged in the final phase of production, specifically preparing fancy-type fireworks. The explosion reportedly occurred in one of the rooms due to friction while mixing chemicals.
Fortunately, workers quickly realised the danger and evacuated the area immediately, successfully averting a major tragedy. Although two rooms were damaged in the blast, there were no reported casualties.
