New Delhi, April 8 -- US President Donald Trump said on Monday (April 7) that he would like the war in Gaza to end and expressed optimism that it could happen in the near future. Hosting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House, Trump said: "I'd like to see the war stop, and I think the war will stop at some point, that won't be in the too-distant future."
His comments come as global pressure mounts to bring an end to the deadly conflict, which began after the October 7, 2023, Hamas-led attack on southern Israel.
