New Delhi, March 16 -- US President Donald Trump has confirmed that American forces have launched targeted airstrikes against Houthi militants in Yemen, vowing to use "overwhelming lethal force" to stop their attacks on US and allied vessels. In a strong statement, Trump also warned Iran against supporting the Houthis, declaring that Tehran would be held "fully accountable" for its actions.

Trump announced the military operation in a post on Truth Social, emphasising the need to protect American interests and restore freedom of navigation in the Red Sea.
