New Delhi, Oct. 14 -- As Diwali approaches, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan have announced substantial bonuses for their state government employees, offering a festive boost ahead of the holiday season.

In Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath declared that a total of Rs.1,022 crore will be allocated to provide bonuses to 14.82 lakh government personnel. Employees up to Pay Matrix Level-8 are set to receive bonuses of up to Rs.6,908, calculated on the basis of 30 days' pay.

"The decision reflects the government's respect for employees' dedication and aims to spread festive joy and enthusiasm among their families.", the official statement read.
