New Delhi, Jan. 7 -- The Delhi High Court on Wednesday directed the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) to conduct a survey of constructions in and around Jama Masjid and to remove encroachments, buildings and stalls if they are found to be illegal, legal news agency Bar and Bench reported.

The Division Bench of Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya and Justice Tejas Karia directed the civic body to conduct the survey within two months.

"We dispose of this petition with the direction to the appellate authorities to the MCD to take into consideration the averments made in this petition and to verify the averments made therein, to conduct a survey in 2 months.
