New Delhi, Nov. 13 -- The Delhi Police on Thursday confirmed that the man who carried out the high-intensity blast near the iconic Red Fort in the national capital was Dr Umar Un Nabi, after forensic DNA testing matched his biological sample with that of his mother.

He was believed to be driving the Hyundai i20 car that exploded near the Red Fort metro station on 10 November 2025. The high-intensity blast had ripped through a slow-moving car near Delhi's Red Fort area on Monday evening.

The DNA samples of Dr Umar's mother and brother were collected and sent to the AIIMS forensic laboratory, where they were matched with the remains of the bodies kept at Lok Nayak Hospital in Delhi.
