New Delhi, Jan. 14 -- Crude oil prices edged lower on Wednesday after four straight sessions of gains, pressured by Venezuela restarting exports and a build-up in U.S. crude and fuel inventories. However, concerns over potential Iranian supply disruptions amid deadly civil unrest continued to support prices.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, February crude oil contracts eased by Rs.22, or 0.4%, to Rs.5,507 per barrel, with a trading volume of 11,113 lots, tracking subdued global cues as concerns over excess supply pressured the market.
Meanwhile, on the international front, Brent crude futures slipped 20 cents, or 0.3%, to $65.27 a barrel, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude declined 23 cents, or 0.4%, to $60.92 a barrel.
