New Delhi, Feb. 20 -- The Burman family has acquired a controlling stake in Religare Enterprises Limited (REL) after the completion of the open offer and its shareholding post the acquisition stand at 83,201,819 equity shares representing 25.16%
The Burmans, who founded and control consumer goods conglomerate Dabur India, got the central bank's approval to buy more shares of Religare in December.
"Our immediate priority is to instill stability, strengthen governance, and drive sustainable growth at the company," the spokesperson said.
Burmans' open offer of Rs.2,116 crore for the acquisition of additional 26 per cent stake in Religare Enterprises Ltd (REL) has received tepid response.
