New Delhi, April 7 -- The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) received contributions of Rs.2,243.947 crore in amounts of Rs.20,000 or more, in 2023-24. The amount is about seven times the the collection of Rs.281.48 crore, as per the reports of the two parties submitted to the Election Commission of India (EC).

In fact, the donations declared by the BJP are more than six times the aggregate declared by four other national parties - the Congress, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), National People's Party NPEP) and the Communist Part of India M) - for the same period, according to an analysis by election watchdog, Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR)
