New Delhi, Nov. 19 -- The Bihar assembly election took place against the backdrop of opposition allegations that the Election Commission and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) carried out large-scale 'voter deletions'. Despite the controversy, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) swept the polls, winning over 200 seats and clearing the path for Nitish Kumar to return as chief minister for a record tenth term.

New data released by the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Wednesday shows that among the five seats with the highest and lowest numbers of voter deletions during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), the NDA won four, while the Congress secured one.
