New Delhi, Aug. 19 -- Days after a nine-year-old Kerala girl died due to brain-eating amoeba, an update has emerged in the case. Health officials on Tuesday, August 19, confirmed that an amoeba was discovered in the freshwater source at the girl's residence. A well built in the vicinity of the house is in focus after the Kerala girl died with 48-hours of hospital admission.
Following the detection of the amoeba, a fever survey was carried out among all those who used the water from the well," PTI quoted A senior health official of the district as saying.
