Bangladesh Elections, Feb. 13 -- The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) is all set to secure a landslide victory in the South Asian nation's general elections, as counting progressed, TV channels declared on Friday. The BNP win would mean its chairman, Tarique Rahman, who spent 17 years in self-imposed exile, would become the nation's next prime minister.
The elections were held on 12 February to elect a government to replace the interim administration led by Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus, which took charge after the collapse of the Awami League regime in August 2024.
The Election Commission (EC) is yet to make a formal announcement.
