New Delhi, Aug. 14 -- Perplexity CEO Aravind Srinivas, who previously made an offer to acquire TikTok's US operations in January, has now proposed a bold new bid. On 12 August, his Perplexity AI startup made an unsolicited $34.5 billion all-cash offer to acquire Alphabet's Chrome browser.

The three-year-old company has raised approximately $1 billion in funding from investors such as Nvidia and Japan's SoftBank and was most recently valued at $14 billion.
