New Delhi, Dec. 10 -- Amazon.com Inc. pledged to invest $35 billion in India over the next five years, boosting its spending in the key growth market to expand in businesses from quick commerce to cloud computing.

The US e-commerce giant will invest in areas such as artificial intelligence and logistics infrastructure, it said in a statement Wednesday. It said the planned outlay, through 2030, will help create an additional 1 million jobs in India.
