New Delhi, Jan. 19 -- Bollywood star Akshay Kumar and his wife, author and former actress Twinkle Khanna, were involved in a roadside accident in Mumbai on Monday evening after returning from a trip abroad. According to an exclusive report by Hindustan Times, the incident occurred as the couple's SUV was heading from the airport to their home in Juhu, in what has been described by witnesses as a "freak accident."

According to local reports, an auto rickshaw that was struck by a speeding Mercedes suddenly collided with the actor's security escort vehicle.
