New Delhi, June 12 -- On Thursday, June 12, an Air India Flight AI171, a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner carrying 242 passengers and crew, crashed moments after takeoff from Ahmedabad's Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport.
The flight, bound for London Gatwick, lost altitude at about 825 feet and struck a nearby doctors' hostel, resulting in a massive fire and significant casualties.
