New Delhi, Oct. 17 -- Millions of demonstrators are expected to take to the streets across the United States on Saturday (October 18) as part of the "No Kings" movement - a nationwide protest opposing President Donald Trump's policies and the deployment of military troops in US cities.

The demonstrations come as the federal government shutdown enters its third week, adding to mounting frustration among Americans.

Organizers describe the protests as a celebration of free speech and the First Amendment, as well as a stand against what they call rising authoritarian tendencies in the Trump administration.
