India, June 23 -- The World Music Day or The Fete de la Musique - as it is known in French, is an annual music celebration that takes place on 21 June each year since 1982 in which citizens of a city or country are allowed and urged to play music outside in their neighborhoods or in public spaces and parks.

In Rajasthan, Mahesh Shringi, a Budi-based song writer and singer, is an enthusiast who celebrates the day at culture Art Institute in the town. On Facebook, he wrote "Vishav Sangit Diwas ki Dher Sari Shub Kamanayen".

On his day, at the local level, free concerts are organized, wherein the local musicians 'play for fun and not for payment'.
