India, Aug. 31 -- President Ram Nath Kovind, presented the National Sports and Adventure Awards at a function held at Rashtrapati Bhavan on August 29, on the occasion of National Sports Day, stated an official release.
RAJIV GANDHI KHEL RATNA AWARD, 2019, was conferred on Bajrang Punia from Haryana who is one of the most outstanding wrestlers of the country. He won Gold Medal in Commonwealth Games, 2018; Gold Medal in Asian Games, 2018; Silver Medal in World Wrestling Championship, 2018; Bronze Medal in Asian Championship, 2018; Gold Medal in Commonwealth Championship in 2016 & 2017.
