Shillong, Sept. 26 -- Ayushman Bharat, also known as Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, is all set to be world's largest free healthcare. The said flagship scheme provides a cover of Rs 5 lakh per family per year to around 50 crore poor individuals. The National Health Authority (NHA), the nodal agency for implementation of the scheme, has been restructuring the packages for availing hospitalization benefits under the scheme on September 26, 2019 as an attempt to minimize misuse.

The move is also geared to empanel more hospitals in the private network, aiming for many new private hospitals will get empanelled with the scheme, informed Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Harsh Vardhan.
