KUALA LUMPUR, Feb. 4 -- Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani is hopeful that the murder of an e-hailing driver in Tawau, Sabah will be taken to court.

Eight policemen, half of them senior officials, are currently under investigation.

"Hopefully with the information obtained, we hope that the prosecution can make a case to charge those involved in the incident," he told reporters at the Bukit Kiara Federal Park here for the city police contingent's hiking programme with the local community.

Acryl said the eight policemen suspected of involvement are under a remand order that will expire on February 8 as "some finer details need to be investigated".
