Kolkata, Nov. 26 -- For the establishment of two plastic parks in West Bengal on Durgapur Expressway, a pitch has been initiated by the Indian Plastic Federation (IPF).

It will be close to the where the Tata small car factory was to come up.

The members of the federation are in talks with a private developer to come up with a 100-acre park at Singur while the other park, on a 50- acre parcel, is being planned at Dankuni.

The two parks is likely to house about 100 SME units, creating employment opportunities to about 10,000 people, said Sisir Jalan, president of the IPF.

The units will begin to be operational by the first half of 2024.
