New Delhi, April 23 -- Exports in the gem and jewellery sector has touched USD 39.15 billion in FY22 said the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC).

The sector saw a jump of nearly 55 per cent in the last financial year, said the industry body.

With regards to the gross exports for gems and jewellery the figure stood at USD 25.40 billion during 2020-21.

Meanwhile, in March the overall gross gems and jewellery exports went up by 4.33 per cent to USD 3,393.29 million.

Further a decline of 0.46 per cent was seen compared to USD 3,409.07 million for the same period in FY21.
