Afghanistan, Oct. 13 -- The Ismaili Center Houston, nearly two decades in the making, has been completed and will be inaugurated in the first week of November by His Highness Prince Rahim Aga Khan, the 50th hereditary Imam of the Shia Ismaili Muslims. According to a message from the Imamat Divan to Ismaili institutions, the Imam will also meet members of the community in Texas for a spiritual gathering known as Deedar, where he meets his followers in person.

The Center is one of the largest Ismaili Centers in the world, joining others in Canada, the United Arab Emirates, Tajikistan, Portugal, the United Kingdom, and elsewhere in Europe. It will be the first in the United States and only the seventh globally.
