Afghanistan, Jan. 25 -- Following the outspread of the deadly disease, the Australian government has confirmed its first case of the coronavirus, with a patient hospitalized in a stable condition in a suburb of Melbourne, health officials said on Saturday.

According to the Australian Health Minister, Jenny Mikakos, the virus affected patient is a Chinese national who arrived from Guangzhou China to Sydney on 19 January.

Ms. Mikakos stated that "the patient is undergoing the required treatment and we have not noticed any further suspected case at this stage, and everything is under control."
