Afghanistan, July 17 -- The Taliban militants have forced the Swedish Committee for Afghanistan to close 42 of 77 health facilities in central Miadan Wardak province.

The Swedish Committee for Afghanistan in a statement said Taliban forced SCA to close 42 out of 77 health facilities in six out of nine districts of Wardak province so far.

The statement further added that the closure of health facilities affects an estimated number of over 5,700 patients on daily basis.

Sonny Mansson, SCA country director said "Forcing SCA to close health facilities hence denying people to receive medical treatment and health services is an obvious violation of human rights and international humanitarian law."
