Afghanistan, Dec. 24 -- A newly published report by Rawadari, an Afghan human rights organization, alleges that the Ismaili Shia community in Afghanistan has faced widening and increasingly organized discrimination since the Taliban returned to power in August 2021. The December 2025 report, based on 25 interviews with victims, relatives, civil society activists, and human rights defenders, describes restrictions affecting political participation, employment, religious practice, education, personal security, and property rights, particularly in Badakhshan and other provinces with Ismaili populations.
