Afghanistan, Oct. 14 -- Security officials in Faryab province say Taliban fighters shot dead a father and son in the Gurziwan district of the province.

The Faryab Police Command says that Taliban insurgents entered a house in Afghan Tapah village of Gurziwan district last night and shot dead a man named Rostam Khan and his son Mohammad Nasim.

According to the Faryab Police HQ, the father and son were shot dead by the Taliban for giving water to the security forces.

Meanwhile, Qari Yusuf Ahmadi, a Taliban spokesman, tweeted that the incident was not carried out by members of the group, but by local the police.
