Jammu, Oct. 24 -- Apni Party's Minority Wing Senior Vice President Janmeet Singh Bali today appealed to the Union Home Minister Amit Shah to declare Punjabi language as official language of J&K.

In a statement to the press, Bali said that Punjabi language should be given recognition in J&K as one of the official languages in the Union Territory.

"This language is being spoken and written by many in Jammu province and some districts of Kashmir. The language is mostly spoken by Sikh community, he said.

In recognition of the struggle for the nation, he said the language should be declared as one of the official languages in J&K. (KNS)
