Srinagar, Nov. 14 -- At least five civilians were injured along the Line of Control (LoC) in Karnah sector of north Kashmir's Kupwara district when armies of India and Pakistan exchanged heavy firing on Thursday.

According to KNS the shelling from across LoC started at 6 am in Dhani, Sodpura, Tad and Trada areas along the LoC which continued for several hours. Five civilians which included a woman, were injured in the shelling.

The injured were identified as Mohammad Amjad son of Abdul Rehman resident of Sadpora, his mother Gulista Begum wife of Abdul Rehman, Abdul Majeed son of Abdul Jabbar Bhat resident of Trada, Mohammad Aslam son of Noor Hussain resident of Sadpora and Ghulam Rasool Bhat son of Sikander Bhat resident of Sadpora.
