Bengaluru, May 28 -- The Karanataka Government on Thursday evening clarified that it has urged the Civil Aviation Ministry reduce the number of incoming flights from five states - Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan - to contain the increase of coronavirus cases in the state.

The government clarified that it never said there should be a complete ban on the incoming flights from these five states as reported earlier.The minister stated that restrictions have also been imposed for people coming by road from the states of Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Gujarat to ensure that adequate quarantine facilities can be provided.The decision was taken as Maharashtra, Gujarat and Tamil Nadu have reported the highest number of...
